When making a decision on
where to educate your children, we know you have a choice.
We hope our web site helps you make a decision
that is best for your family, and we welcome you to contact us
for a personal tour of our facilities. In making your
decision, please consider the following:
Faith-based
Education
Our Roman Catholic faith is woven through the fabric of
every school day - from daily prayer to religion classes to
sacrament preparation. In addition, students in first
through eighth grade attend an all-school Mass each week, with each
classroom participating in a Mass a couple of times each
year. First grade students are "buddied" with
eighth grade students who sit with them during Mass throughout the year
to help them learn how to be an active participant at
church.
Class Size
With an average class size of 20 students, your child can
expect to receive personal attention from his or her
teacher. St. Pius X Parish School offers two classes per grade, so
your child will be exposed to different children in class each
year.
Facilities
Our beautiful parish campus includes the church, the school
and the Social Center (gymnasium), all of which are
connected. We also have an on-site school library with a
full-time librarian, and an up-to-date computer laboratory for
the children.
Foreign Language
Classes in Spanish begin in third grade and continue
through eighth grade. These classes are taught as part of
the regular school day curriculum. Enrichment classes for
eighth graders allow many of them to place into Spanish II in high
school.
Fine Arts
We embrace the importance of children having a fine arts
education. At St. Pius, students take classes in art and
music starting in kindergarten - and if you ask any of them,
they will tell you how much they love our extremely talented
teachers. Our annual Christmas Program and Art Fair are
two examples of how we showcase our students' talents.
Hot Lunch
Our convenient daily hot lunch program provides parents
with the option of selecting one of two meal options each day,
along with daily milk service. Students eat lunch in our
Social Center.
Pre-K
through 8th Grade Environment
Educational research demonstrates that students who attend
school in a pre-kindergarten through eighth grade environment develop stronger
social and emotional skills. At St. Pius, older students are
actively involved with helping our younger students learn.
Working as mentors, the older students realize a sense of
responsibility while giving the younger students valuable
learning opportunities.
Service Projects
Our students learn how to serve God, others and the
communities in which they live by doing many service projects
throughout the year. They have visited the Deicke
Home, collected food for the St. Vincent de Paul food
pantry, collected new underwear and socks for those in need,
raised money for the Cystic
Fibrosis Foundation in memory of one of their classmates, and
so much more.
Before and After
School Care
For a nominal charge, we offer on-site before and after
school care for children in full day kindergarten through eighth grade.
Extracurricular
Activities
Students can participate in a wide array of
extracurricular activities at St. Pius. In addition to our
no-cut athletic program, we have a
Stock Market Club, Drama Club, Student Council, band, Polyphony (our
award-winning publication), and so much more. There is
something for everyone at St. Pius!
