This school year, St. Pius X Parish School celebrates 51 years of providing a faith-based education to children from Lombard, Villa Park and surrounding communities.

Our History
St. Pius was officially declared a parish December 28, 1954.  During 1955, the parish church and school were built.  In the fall of 1956, St. Pius X Parish School was opened.

The Pastor of the parish was Fr. O'Neill and the school was staffed by Sisters of St. Francis Mary Immaculate based in Joliet.  Sister Sheila was the first principal.  St. Pius started out with grades one through six.  The classes were held in what is today the primary wing of the school.  Each year another grade was added.  So today what is known as the O'Neill and Wagner Rooms were the seventh and eight grade classrooms.  Most of the teachers were Sisters with the help of a few lay teachers.  The Sisters lived in the building that is the Rectory today.

The school grew rapidly, because many families were moving to the suburbs at that time.  St. Pius X Parish School from the beginning had a reputation of academic excellence and for producing outstanding Catholic leaders.

Our Mission
To Restore All Things In Christ:  We, the parishioners, parents, and faculty of St. Pius X Roman Catholic Elementary School and Preschool freely accept the command to teach the Good News.  As part of our Parish Community, we are committed to develop each child's character, intellect and identity to provide them with a foundation to live a life modeled on Jesus Christ.

Our Philosophy
It is our belief that in order to realize our full potential for success, St. Pius X Roman Catholic Elementary School and Preschool must meet its responsibility to all associated with the school and to the community in which it operates.  As a Catholic school, we recognize our parents' God given responsibility as their children's primary and first educators.  We the administrators, teachers, and staff accept our roles in assisting and supporting our parents in their task to prepare their children to live in a global society.  We will honor the dignity of each individual and give each person respect he/she deserves.  We will nurture, challenge, and shape each child's intellectual, physical, emotional, spiritual, moral and social development.  We will share our Catholic Christian values with one another while giving witness to them in our academic curriculum.  We will strive to Teach As Jesus Taught.  We, the faculty and staff, join with the parish community and with the parents of our students in support of this philosophy.
